In May, we headed to Eastnor Castle for a beautiful spring wedding, and what a setting for a wedding it was!

A castle, gorgeous grounds, the Herefordshire countryside and live music throughout the day — it doesn’t get much more romantic than that.

We provided music for the guests’ arrival, the ceremony and the drinks reception, with our harp, violin, viola and cello quartet.

A Spring Wedding at Eastnor Castle

Eastnor Castle is one of those venues that really does feel like a dream wedding setting.

The castle itself is incredibly impressive, while the surrounding countryside gives the whole place a relaxed, romantic feel. In May, everything was looking particularly beautiful, with that fresh spring greenery making the perfect backdrop.

And, of course, a castle wedding deserves a little bit of live music!

Harp, Violin, Viola & Cello

Our quartet isn’t quite the traditional string quartet.

Rather than two violins, we have harp, violin, viola and cello.

The harp gives the music a softer, more delicate sound, while the strings bring plenty of warmth and depth. We think it works particularly beautifully for weddings — and especially for a fairytale setting like Eastnor Castle.

For the guests’ arrival and ceremony, the couple chose a beautiful selection of classical music, including Bach, Handel, Einaudi and Mendelssohn.

For the drinks reception, the couple chose a mixture of romantic songs and modern music.

Our sets included Ed Sheeran’s Perfect, A Thousand Years, and JVKE’s golden hour.

We always love playing a mixture like this. Classical music brings the elegance, while familiar modern songs give guests those little moments of recognition.

And hearing songs you know played live on harp and strings is always a little bit special.
